Because of Mary-Mitchell Campbell’s life’s work as a well-known Broadway musical director, vocal coach, orchestrator and private pianist to some of Broadway and Hollywood’s most successful performers, ASTEP is lucky enough to be able to request some of today’s most phenomenal talents to perform in benefit concerts to raise money and awareness for the children we work with.

The ArtCents Concert Series
During the summer, ASTEP presented several shows at the Triad Theater which spotlighted emerging songwriters with performances by Broadway’s best. Each concert was held on the third Monday of every month and admission was a jar of spare change. With ArtCents, ASTEP endeavored to prove that within the art community, Small Change indeed makes Big Change.
4:30 Raffle
On April 30th, 2007 ASTEP raffled off tickets to see The Apple Tree as well as personalized backstage time with the shows star and Tony Award winner, Kristin Chenoweth. The raffle awarded 4 tickets to The Apple Tree as well as 30 minutes of backstage time with Kristin. Winners saw the show from Kristin’s special reserved seats, stayed for a backstage tour, and retreated to Kristin’s dressing room for thirty minutes of ‘hang out time’! Other prizes included signed Playbills by the cast.
An Evening at the Tony’s
A beautiful Gala benefit accompanied by a silent auction, hosted by Sing for Hope, ‘An Evening at the Tony’s’ was an intimate night of music featuring Tony Award nominees Laura Benanti, Tituss Burgess, Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Raul Esparza and Manoel Felciano performing their favorite songs to help raise money for ASTEP.
Christmas in July; Misfit Kids’ Letters to Old St. Nick (July 23rd, 2007)
This “world premier collection of naughty (and nice) holiday themed theater songs” by lyricist and Playbill.com managing editor Kenneth Jones and composer Gerald Stockstill was held at the Players Theater, which is being developed as a musical comedy revue, to raise money for ASTEP.

Continually producing fundraising events to support our organization year-round is a major endeavor for ASTEP.
